Bynder: People & Talent Leadership Days
The People and Talent Leadership team at Bynder had an interesting challenge. After a year of shifts and changing functions, the team finally felt ready to run in 2025. The problem was that even though, as individuals, they had an excellent grip on their teams, as a leadership team, the structure and the dynamic needed some work.
The involvement
I first met with all the heads in the leadership team, this diagnosis phase is essential because it ensures I understand the actual needs of the team, whether the perception of the team and its performance widely varies within. I then designed a two-day, two-location leadership retreat and led the team through the exercises.

Process
Team Building Exercises:
On the first day, we focused on settling into working together as a team. We did some interesting (slightly out there) exercises that were meant to challenge and bond and open up the participants. We also spent time tackling how to collectively tackle an important upcoming project as a collective.
Setting OKRs:
The second day was the day where we set OKRs and generally talked about the structure that we wanted for the year. We added a couple of format changes so that it was easier to stay concrete and to ensure that action points were very clearly a priority.
Follow-up Formats:
We introduced follow-up formats that continued throughout the entire team building experience. Making sure that whenever we would come across an issue that needed following up, there was a very repeatable and expected way for us to go from a vague action point, like, “We should really look at this,” or, “I think there is a lot of work here,” into something a lot more concrete.

Outcome
OKRs Successfully Set:
The OKRs were successfully set at the end of the day, even though that is usually a bigger challenge for that team.
Improved Team Dynamics:
I was very happy to see the way that the teams were interacting differently at the end of these two days.
