Kaospilot: Experience Design Training
In the heart of Amsterdam, I led a 3-day experience design training for 18 eager professionals from all across the world. The participants attended this training to explore how experience design methods can level up their offerings to customers and or participants in training they lead. Learning about experience design moves you away from the tried and tested ways of doing things and creates space for novel approaches to stubborn problems. It's a remedy for repetitive exercises in training and disengagement among the people you create experiences for.

Process
Teaching the 5E Model:
We dove deep into the 5E model of experience design, a comprehensive framework by Kaospilot that guides the creation of transformative experiences. Participants went hands-on, applying the model to real-world scenarios.
Surprise Experiences:
To truly understand the power of experience design, we incorporated unexpected elements into the training. A highlight was a hidden audio-visual experience in the basement venue, a converted bank-turned-art gallery.

Outcome
Participants gained a deep understanding of experience design principles and how to apply them. They left with the confidence and skills to design beyond an exercise-based approach, harness the power of emotion in their work, and guide attention and engagement in new ways. We exclusively got very positive feedback.

"New to or experienced ppl, please sign up now! This ExD 3-day intensive is a treat. Not only will you walk away with frameworks and models to nerd-out on but mostly you'll be fuelled and nurtured. It's not an intensive course at all as you'll be immersed into the world of experience and literally experience so many things, it's worth it. I won't spoil any more. It was amazing, thank you Tom & Andy!" → Rebecca Trouwee, Experiential learning & experience designer, teacher and facilitator
"These days were really a field trip through structured and intended chaos. Thanks to the Trainer as well as all of the participants. This journey sparked the creative spirit and the method-loving mind" → Dr. Katherina Peet, Senior Consultant & Learning Design Expert
"A very practical and insightful course about the great impact you can create with Experience Design. Highly recommended to every changemaker, innovation expert or facilitator!" → Elleke van Gelder, owner Bureau in cc, expert in social innovation
